You may have a lot of questions about EDGE Corps®, and we would love to answer those. Below are some responses to frequently asked questions, but if you don’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to contact us.
You will primarily be serving alongside your Campus Trainer in accomplishing their vision for advancing the Gospel of Jesus on the campus. Leading Bible studies, building relationships with students, and being involved in evangelism and discipleship are all part of the EDGE Corps® experience.
EDGE Corps® is a minimum one-year opportunity, which can be extended to a second year. The majority of EDGE Corps staff choose to serve a second year, and many have begun a career with The Navigators through EDGE Corps®. To view a more detailed calendar please see the "What does the EDGE Corps® Calendar look like?" question below.
EDGE Corps® teams are assigned to campuses around the country based on the strategic needs of the campus and region. Placement decisions are made by your sending region and the EDGE office. During the interview process you will be given the opportunity to express preferences that you may have.
EDGE Corps® has three training summits throughout the course of the first year and an additional two training summits the second year. These week-long summits consist of workshops led by veteran Navigator staff, as well as Biblical devotionals and small group discussion times. While the majority of your campus training will come through experiential learning based on your time on campus, you will also participate in consistent Bible studies with other EDGErs who are on campus with you.
Yes, you will be required to fund-raise to do EDGE Corps®. At your first EDGE orientation summit you will receive training to help you raise the personal support that you need. You will be fundraising for salary, benefits (life and health insurance), ministry and training expenses, and the costs of a possible overseas mission trip. We are committed to helping you raise the necessary finances and to supporting you through the process. Our aim is to keep budgets as low as possible, so most EDGErs have their housing provided during the first year by their Campus Director.
